Job summary

City of New York seeks an experienced DB2 Database Administrator (OBA) to support D82 v12+ on IBM zJOS. You will work with app teams to install, migrate releases and implement data fixes, and define DB2 recovery and tuning procedures for PMS, PPMS and FMS.

Responsibilities include DB2 installation and tuning, DR readiness, issue diagnosis, and coordinating production migrations with IBM and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field with 4+ years of full-time IT infra experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and tune DB2 databases and related components.
• Collaborate with development teams to migrate releases and support data fixes.
• Define and implement database recovery procedures and runstats/reorgs.
• Coordinate production migrations with production and tech-support teams.
• Support DR drills and tool upgrades; monitor DB health and performance.
• Open IBM tickets and drive resolution; ensure high availability of systems.
