Job summary

CTG is seeking a Senior DB2 Database Administrator with OpenShift expertise to support, design, and migrate DB2 environments across z/OS and LUW. The role involves tuning, backup/recovery, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to modernize databases.

Responsibilities include leading on-premises DB2 to OpenShift migrations, performing SQL tuning, and ensuring high availability and performance within OpenShift/Kubernetes ecosystems. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of DB2 database administration experience.
• Hands-on experience with DB2/Db2U in OpenShift or Kubernetes.
• Proven experience migrating on-prem DB2 databases to Red Hat OpenShift.

Duration: Ongoing Contract

Duties

• Administer and support DB2 databases across z/OS and/or LUW environments.
• Design, build, migrate, configure, tune, and maintain DB2 databases.
• Support DB2/Db2U on Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes, including storage, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Lead or support on-premises DB2 to OpenShift migrations as part of database modernization initiatives.

Experience

• 7+ years of DB2 Database Administration experience.
• Hands-on experience with DB2/Db2U in OpenShift or Kubernetes.

• Strong SQL and DB2 performance tuning experience.
• Experience with CRON, ESP, or enterprise scheduling tools.
• Large-scale database migration/modernization experience preferred.
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
