Job summary

CTG is seeking a Db2 Database Administrator to support OpenShift / Db2U environments for a client in Atlanta, GA. This four-month contract involves design, migration, performance tuning, backups, and production support.

You will collaborate with platform, application, and infrastructure teams, implement scheduling jobs, troubleshoot issues, and document configurations and migration activities. Prior Db2 z/OS or LUW experience on OpenShift/Kubernetes is required.

Qualifications

Strong Db2 administration skills with Db2 z/OS and/or LUW experience.
Hands-on Db2/Db2U on OpenShift or Kubernetes experience.
Solid SQL and performance tuning capabilities.
Experience with backup, restore, and recovery operations.
Familiarity with enterprise scheduling tools (CRON, ESP).
Understanding of containerized DB environments and OpenShift.
Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Nice-to-have: QREP experience.
Nice-to-have: Large-scale migration knowledge.

Responsibilities

Administer Db2 databases, including design, build, migration, performance tuning, backup, and restore.
Support Db2/Db2U on OpenShift, including development support and storage management.
Assist data migration from cDB2 to Db2 on OpenShift.
Design and implement database solutions in a containerized environment.
Collaborate with platform, application, and infra teams on deployments.
Configure and manage scheduled database jobs using CRON/ESP.
Troubleshoot performance, availability, and stability issues across DB and OpenShift.
Support backup, recovery, high availability, and DR processes.
Document configurations, migration activities, and ops procedures.
Nice-to-have: Configure IBM Q Replication (QREP) for Db2 environments.
