Job summary

RegEd is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to maintain and enhance our databases across on‑premise and cloud environments. You will design objects, tune performance, and implement secure, scalable data solutions within a fast-paced RegTech setting.

You will work with Architecture, QA, App Development, and Infrastructure teams to define standards, monitor databases, and respond to incidents, while contributing to optimization and modernization efforts across our data platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years database analysis, programming or similar experience.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Senior Database Developer or equivalent.
• Extensive hands-on experience in SQL 2016 and higher.
• Hands on experience with cloud-based database systems in Azure using Managed Instance, Azure SQL Hyperscale, Azure SQL DB, and VMs.
• Experience writing complex database procedures, functions and triggers.
• Understanding of execution plans, system views, and dynamic SQL.
• Strong understanding of database structures, theories and practices.
• Proven ability to innovate and analytically solve problems.
• Experience with OLTP and OLAP performance optimization.
• Experience with SQL Server HADR technologies (Always On, log shipping, backup/recovery).
• Experience with monitoring dashboards (SSMS, Grafana, PowerBI).
• Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell.
• Experience with Git or other version-control processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and maintain database objects across on premise and cloud databases.
• Recommend database approaches to architecture and application staff.
• Drive innovation through newer data technologies.
• Establish coding standards with Architecture team for procedures and schemas.
• Review and approve complex database changes.
• Optimize existing queries and develop efficient SQL code.
• Lead investigation and resolution of database incidents.
• Build and maintain database monitoring infrastructure for alerts and dashboards.
• Support security/compliance using encryption and data masking.
• Advise on retention, tiering, and archiving for high-volume databases.
• Collaborate with Architecture, QA, App Dev, and Infra teams on DB code.
• Work with multiple departments to implement and maintain database solutions.
