Job summary

RegEd is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to maintain and optimize our on‑premise and cloud databases, including SQL Server, Azure SQL, and related data platforms. You will design structures, tune performance, and respond to incidents within SLAs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years database analysis, programming or similar experience.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Senior Database Developer or equivalent.
• Extensive hands-on experience in SQL 2016 and higher.
• Hands on experience with cloud-based database systems in Azure.
• Experience writing complex database procedures, functions and triggers.
• Experience with SQL Server HADR technologies including Always On.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and maintain database objects in on premise and cloud databases.
• Recommend database approaches and design to architecture and application staff.
• Drive innovation and improvement through newer data technologies.
• Work with Architecture to establish coding standards for procedures and design.
• Review and approve complex structural changes to the database.
• Optimize existing queries and procedures and develop efficient SQL code.
• Lead investigation and resolution of database incidents.
• Assist in building and maintaining database monitoring infrastructure.
• Support database security and compliance using encryption tools.
• Advise on data retention, tiering, and archive strategies.
