Job summary

RegEd is a market-leading RegTech provider with remote and hybrid roles. The Senior Database Administrator will design, optimize, and maintain on-premise and cloud databases, focusing on performance, security, and scalability.

You will work across Architecture, QA, and Infrastructure to implement robust data solutions. This role requires 7+ years in database analysis or related fields, strong SQL skills, and extensive experience with Azure databases and monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• 7+ years database analysis, programming or similar experience.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Senior Database Developer or equivalent.
• Extensive hands-on experience in SQL 2016 and higher.
• Experience with cloud-based Azure database services and large 2+ TB databases.
• Experience writing complex database procedures, functions and triggers.
• Understanding of execution plans, system views, and dynamic SQL.
• Strong understanding of database structures and practices.
• Proven ability to optimize OLTP and OLAP performance.
• Experience with SQL Server HADR technologies (Always On, log shipping, backups).
• Experience with monitoring platforms like SSMS, Grafana, PowerBI, or similar.
• Experience with ETL tools (SSIS) and reporting (SSRS).
• Familiarity with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Lake Storage or Synapse.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and maintain database objects on premise and in the cloud.
• Optimize and update existing database code and queries.
• Respond to alerts and incidents within SLA targets.
• Collaborate with Architecture to establish coding standards for stored procedures and schema design.
• Lead investigations and resolutions of database incidents and deadlocks.
• Build and maintain database monitoring and dashboards.
• Support database security, retention, and archiving strategies.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to implement database code and solutions.
