Job summary

RegEd is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to maintain and enhance database systems and help design new solutions. The role emphasizes SQL tuning, security, and incident response within a data‑driven team.

You will collaborate with Architecture, QA, and Infrastructure to ensure robust, scalable databases across on‑prem and cloud environments, delivering reliable performance and compliance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years database analysis, programming or similar experience.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Senior Database Developer or equivalent.
• Extensive hands‑on experience in SQL 2016 and higher.
• Hands on experience with cloud‑based database systems in Azure.
• Experience writing complex database procedures, functions and triggers.
• Understanding of execution plans and dynamic SQL.
• Strong understanding of database structures and practices.
• Proven ability to optimize OLTP and OLAP performance.
• Experience with SQL Server HADR technologies (Always On, log shipping).
• Experience with monitoring dashboards and third‑party tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and maintain database objects in on‑premise and cloud databases.
• Recommend database approaches to architecture and application staff.
• Drive innovation through newer data technologies.
• Establish coding standards with Architecture team for stored procedures and schema design.
• Review and approve complex structural changes to the database.
• Optimize queries and develop efficient SQL code.
• Lead investigation and resolution of database incidents.
• Build and maintain monitoring infrastructure for alerts and dashboards.
• Support database security and compliance using encryption tools.
• Advise on data retention, tiering, and archive strategies.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to implement database solutions.
