Job summary

RegEd is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to maintain and improve existing database systems and help design new ones using the latest technologies. You will handle design, tuning, complex SQL, and security across on-prem and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years database analysis, programming or similar experience.
• ~ Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Senior Database Developer or equivalent.
• ~ Extensive hands-on experience with SQL 2016 and higher.
• ~ Hands on experience with cloud-based database systems in Azure using Managed Instance, Azure SQL Hyperscale, Azure SQL DB, and VMs.
• ~ Experience writing complex database procedures, functions and triggers.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and maintain database objects for on-prem and cloud databases.
• Review and approve complex structural changes to the database.
• Optimize existing queries and procedures for OLTP/OLAP.
• Lead investigation and resolution of database incidents including blocking and deadlocks.
• Assist in building database monitoring infrastructure and dashboards.
• Support database security and compliance with encryption and masking.
• Advise on data retention and archive strategies for high-volume production DBs.
