Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate the data platform that powers our analytics and AI tooling. You will implement scalable data applications, secure access controls, and reliable CI/CD integrations, working with cross‑functional teams to improve developer productivity across our remote‑first organization.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a cloud analytical data platform with governance.
• Experience with containerized apps, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building internal platforms and self-service tooling.
• Skilled at REST APIs, OAuth/OIDC, and secret management.
• Proficient in Python and SQL for platform services.
• Strong operational instincts and on-call experience.
• Interest in semantic layer AI tooling and LLM workflows.
• Excellent cross-team communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement platform features for data applications at scale.
• Build and maintain integrations with CI/CD, identity, external APIs.
• Design secure data access patterns and governance.
• Automate toil and enable self-service for platform users.
• Improve observability, telemetry, and incident response.
• Participate in on-call coverage and platform maintenance.
• Contribute to roadmap for semantic layer and AI tooling.
• Set high standards in code review and operational readiness.
