Job summary

Affirm is building a scalable data platform team that powers data at scale across OLTP and OLAP systems. This role focuses on the platform and applications layer, enabling teams to securely access and analyze data with self-service capabilities, governance, and reliable operations.

You will contribute to the evolving platform roadmap, improve observability, and help design AI-native data tooling while maintaining strong engineering standards and incident response practices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a cloud analytical data platform.
• Knowledge of RBAC, data masking, and governance.
• Experience with containerized apps and deployment automation.
• Proficient in Python and SQL for platform services.
• Strong operational instincts and on-call experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement platform features for data apps at scale.
• Build integrations with CI/CD, identity, external APIs and event-driven hooks.
• Design secure data access patterns across analytics infrastructure.
• Automate toil and enable self-service for platform users.
• Improve observability with telemetry, alerts, logs, and runbooks.
• Participate in on-call coverage and platform maintenance.
• Help shape the platform roadmap including AI tooling.
• Set high standards in code reviews and incident follow-through.
