Job summary

CVS Health Corporation is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design and implement platforms that manage distributed event streaming technologies. The role focuses on database, messaging, and data warehouse platforms, with mentoring and roadmap contributions for high-performance data systems.

You will design and maintain automation for provisioning, backups, and user management, while collaborating with engineering teams and customer groups to drive scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• 5 years of applicable experience.
• Experience with messaging platforms (Kafka/Redis).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Proficient in Bash or Python.
• Cloud experience (Azure or AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data platform components for provisioning, backups, and user management.
• Troubleshoot performance and reliability issues in data systems and serve as escalation point.
• Identify opportunities to improve streaming services, security, scalability, and automation.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical services.
• Mentor junior engineers on DBRE principles and query optimization.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by researching new data technologies.
