Job summary

CVS Health Corporation is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer on the Data & Performance Enablement team to design and implement platforms that manage distributed event streaming technologies. You will own features for database, messaging, and data warehouse platforms while mentoring engineers and shaping the technical roadmap.

You will design, build, and maintain data platform components, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with customer teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka or Redis.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Proficient in at least one scripting language (Bash or Python).
• Strong experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure or AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain key data platform components for provisioning, backups, and user management.
• Troubleshoot performance and reliability issues in data systems and serve as escalation point.
• Improve data streaming services, security, scalability, and automation.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical services.
• Mentor junior engineers on DBRE principles and query optimization.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by researching new data technologies.
