Job summary

CVS Health Corporation is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead design and implementation of distributed data and streaming platforms. You will own features for database, messaging, and data warehouse platforms, enabling engineering teams to build high-performance data-intensive applications.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with customer teams, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to the technical roadmap for your area.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applicable experience in platform engineering or similar.
• Strong experience with Kafka and Redis messaging platforms.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Proficient in at least one scripting language (Bash or Python).
• Solid experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure or AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain key components of our data platform automation for provisioning, backups, and user management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance and reliability issues in our data systems; escalation point for the team.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve data streaming services, security, scalability, and automation.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support the team's critical services.
• Mentor junior engineers on database administration, query optimization, and DBRE principles.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by researching new data technologies and proposing innovative solutions.
