Job summary

CVS Health Corporation is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer on the Data & Performance Enablement team to design and implement data platforms managing distributed event streaming technologies. You will own features for database, messaging, and data warehouse platforms, mentoring engineers and shaping the technical roadmap.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, reliability, and collaboration with customer teams to deliver high-performance data solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applicable experience.
• Proficient with messaging platforms (Kafka/Redis).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Proficient in at least one scripting language (Bash, Python).
• Solid experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure or AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain key components of the data platform automation for provisioning, backups, and user management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance and reliability issues in data systems, serving as escalation point.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve data streaming services, security, scalability, and automation.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical services.
• Mentor junior engineers on database administration, query optimization, and DBRE principles.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by researching new data technologies and proposing solutions.
