Job summary

CVS Health Corporation is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer for the Data & Performance Enablement team in Arizona. You will design and implement platforms that manage distributed event streaming technologies, own features for database, messaging, and data warehouse platforms, and mentor engineers to support high-performance data-intensive applications.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, participate in on-call rotations, and help shape the technical roadmap with new data technologies.

Qualifications

• 5 years of applicable experience.
• Strong experience with messaging platforms (Kafka/Redis).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Proficient in at least one scripting language (Bash or Python).
• Solid experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure or AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain key components of our data platform automation for provisioning, backups, and user management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance and reliability issues in our data systems, serving as an escalation point.
• Identify opportunities to improve data streaming services, security, scalability, and automation.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical services.
• Mentor junior engineers on database administration, query optimization, and DBRE principles.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by researching new data technologies and proposing solutions.
