Job summary

RSM US LLP is seeking a Solution Architect - Data Platforms to own the architecture of the enterprise data platform, including lakehouse layering, governance, and security controls. You will evaluate technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Synapse, and shape canonical models and contracts with other architects.

The role requires 8+ years in data/platform architecture, strong communication, and experience in regulated environments.

Qualifications

8+ years of data/platform architecture experience.
Hands-on with modern stacks like Databricks or Microsoft Fabric.
Knowledge of medallion, Data Mesh, and Data Vault 2.0 concepts.
Experience with governance tooling (Purview) for cataloging, lineage, and classification.

Responsibilities

Own the enterprise data platform architecture, including lakehouse layering for analytics across portfolios.
Evaluate and recommend platform technologies for storage, compute, and orchestration; document ADRs for reviews.
Design ingestion, ELT/ETL, and orchestration patterns across batch and streaming workloads.
Adhere to data governance and catalog architecture with lineage and data quality controls.
Establish reference architecture and platform standards, including security and compliance controls.
Partner to align canonical data models and integration contracts feeding the platform.
Lead trade-off analysis and PoCs; manage capacity and cost for compute and storage.
