Job summary

RSM US LLP seeks an experienced Solution Architect – Data Platforms to own and evolve the enterprise data platform architecture. You will drive lakehouse layering and steward standards for analytics, working with cross-functional teams and steering committees.

You will evaluate Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, and other tooling, shaping canonical models and contracts while ensuring governance, security, and cost efficiency across the platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of data/platform architecture experience, including enterprise-scale lakehouse or modern data warehouse design.
• Strong hands-on with modern stacks (Databricks, Microsoft Fabric) and governance tooling.
• Experience with SOC 2/SOX controls and data security architecture.
• Ability to present options and trade-offs to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own enterprise data platform architecture including lakehouse layering for analytics across portfolios.
• Evaluate technologies (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse) and document decisions for steering committees.
• Design ingestion, ELT/ETL, and orchestration patterns across batch and streaming workloads.
• Ensure data governance, lineage, classification with Purview; manage residency and access controls.
• Lead platform standards, ARB submissions, and FinOps considerations for compute/storage.
