Job summary

RSM US LLP is seeking a Solution Architect - Data Platforms to own the enterprise data platform architecture, driving lakehouse layering and governance across Assurance, Consulting, Tax, and cross-LOB portfolios.

You will evaluate technologies like Databricks, Snowflake, and Fabric, design ingestion and orchestration patterns, and ensure compliance with SOC 2/SOX. Hybrid work model with collaboration across leadership.

Qualifications

8+ years of data/platform architecture experience.
Deep hands-on expertise with modern platform stacks (Databricks, Microsoft Fabric).
Strong understanding of medallion architecture, Data Mesh, and Data Vault 2.0.
Experience with data governance tooling (Microsoft Purview).
Familiarity with orchestration engines (ADF, Airflow).
Knowledge of data platform security architecture (RBAC, data residency).
Experience in regulated environments with SOC 2 / SOX controls.
Strong communication skills for presenting options to leadership.

Responsibilities

Own enterprise data platform architecture and lakehouse layering for analytics across business units.
Evaluate platform technologies for storage, compute, and orchestration; document ADRs for steering reviews.
Design ingestion, ELT/ETL, and orchestration patterns for batch and streaming workloads.
Ensure data governance, lineage, and quality with Purview.
Establish reference architecture and platform standards including security and compliance.
Align canonical data models and contracts with data solutions architects.
Guide build-vs-buy decisions and document trade-offs for architecture.
Lead capacity and cost architecture for compute and storage, including FinOps.
