Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Senior Data Governance Analyst to design, develop, and implement metadata, reference data, and data quality processes. You will lead projects, partner with governance teams, and translate business concepts into computable semantic structures for MDM, AI, and data catalogs.

The role reports to the Data Governance Manager and requires hands‑on experience with the chosen data governance solution and strong SQL, data modeling, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with data cataloging, lineage, classification, reference data, and business glossary management.
• Experience with system and data integration via API.
• Experience with major Electronic Health Record (EHR) solutions and understanding backend data architecture.
• Advanced SQL skills and knowledge of database design, ETL, and data mapping.
• Experience with data quality monitoring and improvement.
• Strong team player and cross‑level collaboration.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word with effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and semantic models for enterprise domains.
• Resolve ambiguous business terminology with stakeholder discussions.
• Translate business concepts into computable semantic structures for MDM and AI.
• Partner with owners, stewards, architects, and engineers to align models with data designs.
• Establish and maintain enterprise glossaries, ontologies, taxonomies, and reference-data structures.
• Identify authoritative sources, ownership boundaries, survivorship rules, and semantic relationships.
• Conduct domain discovery and business architecture analysis.
• Support master data management by defining concepts and governance requirements.
• Define semantic requirements for AI, knowledge graphs, and semantic layers.
• Develop modeling standards, governance practices, and documentation for reusable semantic assets.
