Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Governance Analyst to design, develop, and implement metadata, reference data, and data quality processes. You will work with stakeholders to standardize business terminology and align models with data architectures across systems.

Reporting to the Data Governance Manager, you’ll lead moderately complex initiatives. The role requires strong SQL, data governance experience, and collaboration across IT and business teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with data cataloging, data lineage, data classification, reference data management, and business glossary management.
• Experience with system and data integration via API.
• Experience with major EHR vended solutions and deep understanding of backend data architecture and data modelling.
• Advanced SQL skills and proficient knowledge about database design, ETL processes and data mapping.
• Experience with data quality monitoring and data quality improvement.
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues across all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and semantic models for enterprise domains supporting operational, analytical, and AI use cases.
• Analyze and resolve ambiguous business terminology with stakeholders to establish precise definitions.
• Translate business concepts into computable semantic structures for MDM, analytics, catalogs, and AI solutions.
• Collaborate with owners, stewards, architects, and engineers to align models with data architectures.
• Maintain enterprise glossaries, ontologies, taxonomies, and reference-data structures for consistency.
• Identify authoritative sources, ownership boundaries, survivorship rules, and semantic relationships for critical data assets.
• Conduct domain discovery and business architecture analysis to understand processes and information needs.
• Support MDM initiatives by defining concepts and governance requirements for design and implementation.
• Define semantic requirements for AI and knowledge graphs to ensure enterprise meaning is consumable by humans and AI.
