Job summary

Intermountain Health in Utah seeks a Senior Data Governance Analyst to design and implement metadata and reference data management, and to monitor data quality. You will report to the Data Governance Manager and lead moderately complex projects focused on enterprise semantic structures.

This role requires collaboration across stakeholders and a strong understanding of data governance concepts, with emphasis on AI-ready data and knowledge graphs. Video interviews may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in data cataloging, lineage, classification, reference data and business glossary management.
• Experience with system and data integration via API.
• Experience with major EHR solutions and understanding of backend data architecture and data modeling.
• Advanced SQL skills and knowledge of database design, ETL processes and data mapping.
• Experience with data quality monitoring and improvement.
• Team player with ability to work across all organizational levels.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and semantic models for enterprise domains and business rules.
• Resolve ambiguous business terminology by facilitating stakeholder discussions to standard definitions.
• Translate business concepts into computable semantic structures for MDM and AI-enabled solutions.
• Partner with owners, stewards, architects, and engineering teams to align models with data designs.
• Establish and maintain enterprise glossaries, ontologies, taxonomies, and reference-data structures.
• Identify authoritative sources, ownership boundaries, survivorship rules, and semantic relationships for data assets.
• Conduct domain discovery and business architecture analysis to understand processes and information needs.
• Support master data management initiatives with governance requirements for design and implementation.
• Define semantic requirements for AI, knowledge graphs, and semantic layers for enterprise consumption.
• Develop modeling standards, governance practices, and documentation to ensure governance and reusability.
