Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a Data Architect - Staff to design, implement, and maintain both traditional and modern data infrastructures across cloud and on-premise systems. The role emphasizes SQL, Python, PySpark, and data governance in a distributed environment.

You will work on moderate to complex projects with mentoring from senior architects, contributing to scalable data models, pipelines, and warehouses that align with business goals.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with SQL and traditional RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform for data architecture.
• Strong Python and PySpark for data engineering tasks.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools (SSIS, Informatica, Azure Data Factory, Databricks).
• Proficiency in Python or PySpark or R programming.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and teams.
• Proficiency in Product Management, Project Management, or Program Management methodologies and applying them to data projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain both traditional and modern data infrastructures at staff level.
• Combine expertise in relational databases, cloud technologies, and big data tools to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Develop strategies for integrating enterprise data, ensuring data quality, and optimizing data access across cloud and on‑premise systems.
• Work on moderate to complex projects and be mentored by senior data architects/engineers to deliver robust models, pipelines, and warehouses using SQL, Python, PySpark.
