Job summary

Pearson is hiring a Data Engineer / Full Stack Engineer to build scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines using Python, Django, AWS, and modern frontend frameworks. The role spans cloud-native architectures, data transformation, and secure authentication in a distributed Agile setup.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on Django DRF, Nuxt 4, Vue 3, TypeScript, AWS serverless, and AWS Glue experience. Compensation ranges from $80,000 to $90,000 with annual incentives and benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Python-based backend development and Django/DRF.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger docs.
• Strong data engineering and ETL/ELT workflow exposure.
• Hands-on with AWS serverless, Lambda, S3, and related services.
• Frontend work with Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript is ideal.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, GitHub Actions, and Terraform

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services in Python/Django.
• Build and document RESTful APIs using DRF/OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Implement data validation with Pydantic and secure auth with Knox/OAuth.
• Create modern frontend UIs using Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript.
• Develop and optimize data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows with AWS Glue.
• Operate serverless architectures with AWS Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge.
• Manage infrastructure with AWS CDK and Terraform; ensure testing coverage.
