Job summary

Pearson is hiring a Data Engineer / Full Stack Engineer to design and build scalable backend services using Python and Django, and to create frontend interfaces with Nuxt 4 and Vue 3. You will work on data pipelines, APIs, and cloud-native services across distributed teams.

The role emphasizes serverless architectures on AWS, data transformation with Glue, and a broad stack including PostgreSQL, Docker, and modern testing. Eligible for an annual incentive program.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python backend development with Django/DRF.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
• Strong data engineering and AWS cloud experience.
• Experience with serverless architectures and IaC (CDK/Terraform).
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks (Nuxt/Vue) and TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services with Python/Django.
• Develop RESTful APIs and API schemas for enterprise use.
• Create data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows in AWS Glue.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization patterns.
• Develop frontend interfaces using Nuxt 4 and Vue 3.
• Build serverless apps with AWS Lambda and Mangum.
