Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Data Engineer/Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and data pipelines using Python (Django/DRF) and modern frontend stacks (Nuxt/Vue). The role covers AWS serverless, data transformations with Glue, and integration of secure auth with OAuth and Azure AD.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python backend development and Django/DRF
• Experience designing RESTful APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger
• Hands-on AWS cloud services including serverless and data tools
• Frontend experience with modern frameworks (Nuxt/Vue) and TypeScript

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python, Django, and DRF
• Build and document RESTful APIs using DRF/OpenAPI/Swagger
• Implement data validation and API response modeling with Pydantic
• Develop authentication with django-rest-knox, OAuth, and Azure AD integrations
• Create frontend using Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript; manage state with Pinia
• Design and optimize data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows with AWS Glue and Pandas/NumPy
• Develop serverless apps with AWS Lambda and Mangum; manage Redis caching
• Design relational DB schemas with PostgreSQL; optimize queries
• Use AWS CDK (Python) and Terraform for IaC; Docker and ECR for deployment
• Build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and ensure quality through testing
• Follow security best practices (IAM, Secrets Manager, WAF) and participate in agile ceremonies
