Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Data Engineer / Full Stack Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and data pipelines. You will implement RESTful APIs, authentication, and modern frontend interfaces using Nuxt/Vue, with heavy AWS cloud involvement.

The role spans backend and frontend work, data engineering, and serverless infrastructure, requiring strong Python, Django DRF, Nuxt/Vue, and AWS Glue experience. This is a full-time position with a competitive U.S. salary range.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python backend development and Django REST Framework (DRF).
• Hands-on experience with Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript.
• Experience building RESTful APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Secure auth using django-rest-knox, OAuth, and MSAL/Azure AD integrations.
• Data engineering pipelines, ETL/ELT using AWS Glue, Pandas, NumPy.
• Event-driven architectures using AWS SQS, SNS, Lambda, EventBridge.
• Serverless apps with AWS Lambda and Mangum (ASGI adapter).
• Caching and sessions with Redis/ElastiCache.
• Infrastructure as code with AWS CDK (Python) and Terraform.
• Containerization with Docker and ECR; CI/CD with GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services with Python, Django, and DRF.
• Build and document RESTful APIs using DRF/OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Develop data validation and API response modeling with Pydantic.
• Create secure authentication/authorization with django-rest-knox, OAuth, and MSAL/Azure AD.
