Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Data Engineer / Full Stack Engineer to design and deliver scalable Python back-end services with Django/DRF and modern front-end interfaces using Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript. The role includes building data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows with AWS Glue, and serverless cloud patterns across distributed Agile teams.

You will work with AWS CDK, Terraform, Docker, and CI/CD (GitHub Actions) while ensuring data quality, security, and scalable architecture.

Qualifications

• Experience in Python-based backend development with Django/DRF.
• Frontend experience with Nuxt/Vue and TypeScript.
• Experience with AWS serverless and infrastructure services.
• Data transformation experience using AWS Glue.
• Familiarity with DRF/OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
• Authentication with django-rest-knox, OAuth, and Azure AD integrations.
• Data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using Pandas/NumPy.
• Strong data validation and API modeling with Pydantic.
• Experience with AWS CDK (Python) and Terraform.
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions and testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python, Django, and DRF.
• Build and document RESTful APIs using DRF/OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Implement robust data validation and API modeling with Pydantic.
• Develop secure auth using django-rest-knox, OAuth, and Azure AD integrations.
• Create and maintain frontend apps using Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript.
• Manage frontend state with Pinia and build UI with Tailwind and Nuxt UI.
• Design and optimize data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, validation, and delivery.
• Build ETL/ELT workflows using AWS Glue, Pandas, NumPy.
