Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Data Engineer / Full Stack Engineer to build scalable backend services in Python using Django/DRF, and modern frontend apps with Nuxt/Vue. You will own data pipelines, APIs, and cloud-native services across AWS, focusing on data transformation and secure integrations.

The role blends backend, frontend, and data engineering in a distributed Agile team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Django/DRF, Nuxt/Vue, AWS serverless, and AWS Glue.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Django REST Framework and DRF OpenAPI/Swagger docs.
• Proficient in Python data processing with Pandas/NumPy.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and data-driven services.
• Familiarity with AWS services, serverless patterns, and IAM/Secrets handling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python, Django, and DRF.
• Build and document RESTful APIs using DRF/OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Implement data validation and API response modeling with Pydantic.
• Develop secure authentication using django-rest-knox, OAuth, and Azure integrations.
• Create frontends with Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript.
• Manage frontend state with Pinia and style with Tailwind CSS and Nuxt UI.
• Design and optimize data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
• Build ETL/ELT workflows with AWS Glue, Pandas, and NumPy.
• Deploy serverless components with AWS Lambda and Mangum; use Redis caching.
• Establish CI/CD with GitHub Actions and implement tests.
