Job summary

Ericsson is seeking a Data Center Services Technician to support installation, operation, and maintenance of data center infrastructure in New Albany, Ohio. The role suits technicians with data center, telecom, or IT infrastructure experience, capable of independent execution of standard deployment tasks.

You will perform rack‑and‑stack, cabling, testing, and provisioning, while ensuring safety and adherence to Ericsson and customer standards. Travel up to 50–100% is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data center operations, structured cabling, telecommunications, field services, or IT infrastructure support.
• Working knowledge of data center hardware, racks, servers, networking equipment, power distribution systems, and structured cabling.
• Understanding of copper and fiber cabling practices, basic optical networking concepts, and installation standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, installation documentation, and methods of procedure (MOPs).
• Experience performing rack-and-stack, cabling, testing, and equipment installation activities with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to quality and safety.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technicians, project teams, vendors, and customers while managing assigned work independently.

Responsibilities

• Independently install and deploy servers, network devices, storage equipment, and related infrastructure according to designs.
• Install, route, terminate, and dress copper and fiber cabling with proper labeling and cable management.
• Install rack PDUs, connect equipment to power sources, and verify connectivity.
• Perform equipment provisioning, hardware installation, and OOB management connections.
• Execute testing, validation, MACD activities, and FRU replacements per procedures.
• Maintain installation records, test results, inventory updates, and as‑built documentation.
• Elevate design concerns, operational issues, and safety risks to senior technicians or site leadership.
