Job summary

Ericsson Inc. in New Albany, Ohio is seeking a Data Center Services Technician to support installation, operation, and maintenance of data center infrastructure.

You will execute rack-and-stack activities, cabling, equipment provisioning, testing, and provide operational support while upholding safety and Ericsson/customer standards. The role suits technicians with data center/telecom experience and ability to work independently on standard deployment tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years experience in data center operations, structured cabling, telecom, field services, or IT infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of data center hardware, racks, servers, networking equipment, power distribution systems, and structured cabling.
• Understanding of copper and fiber cabling practices, basic optical networking concepts, and installation standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, installation documentation, and MOPs.
• Experience performing rack-and-stack, cabling, testing, and equipment installation with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Independently install and deploy servers, network devices, storage equipment, and related infrastructure per designs and docs.
• Install, route, terminate, and dress copper and fiber cabling with proper labeling and cable management.
• Install rack PDUs, connect equipment to power sources, verify power and management connectivity.
• Perform equipment provisioning, hardware component installation, and OOB management connections.
• Execute basic testing/validation incl. continuity testing, fiber verification, standard turn-ups.
• Perform MACDs and standard FRU replacements per approved procedures.
• Maintain installation records, test results, inventory, and as-built documentation.
• Identify and address design concerns, operational issues, and safety risks for seniors.
