Job summary

QTS Data Centers in the Atlanta, GA area is seeking a Senior Pre-construction Manager to lead large-scale data center cost estimating and long-range capital planning. You will work with project teams to develop accurate cost projections and provide data-driven insights to support sales negotiations and project delivery.

The ideal candidate has seven or more years in preconstruction estimating or construction management, with a Bachelor’s degree in CM/CE/Architecture and proficiency in ProEst and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture; or relevant professional experience.
• ProEst or similar estimating software proficiency.
• Advanced proficiency with construction documents.
• Ability to lead and mentor others.
• Seven or more years of experience in preconstruction estimating or construction management.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating process by preparing detailed cost estimates for data center projects and campuses at various project stages.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other project documents to prepare accurate and comprehensive estimates. Assess labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing in various markets.
• Collaborate closely with internal and external project teams, including project management teams, designers and construction managers to gather and verify cost-related information, and identify and mitigate potential development challenges.
• Provide recommendations on design alternatives to control costs while maintaining project quality.
• Stay abreast of construction industry trends, material prices, and labor costs in various markets to provide the most accurate estimates and cost projections.
• Maintain database of current development costs and develop policies and procedures for accurate and timely cost estimating and record keeping.
