Job summary

QTS Data Centers in the United States is seeking a Senior Development Project Engineer (Data Center Construction) to assist with design, preconstruction and construction activities on multiple projects. You will coordinate with Facilities, Contractors, Designers, Engineers and Operations staff, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management and 5+ years in commercial construction, including CM@R and Design-Build

Qualifications

• Five+ years of professional experience in commercial construction practices and procedures.
• Experience with Lump Sum, CM@R, and Design-Build project delivery methods.

Responsibilities

• Assist Development leadership and Project Manager with day-to-day activities and responsibilities.
• Assist with multiple campus projects, maintaining budgets, schedules, and status reports.
• Support development program updates for monthly executive reviews.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, design and construction teams on master development program and campus design solution.
• Coordinate entitlement and permitting needs for assigned sites.
• Assist with scopes of work for design, construction, commissioning services; participate in procurement and cost estimates.
• Review pricing proposals for design, construction and commissioning services.
• Coordinate equipment procurement and delivery with strategic procurement.
• Ensure submittals are coordinated with site stakeholders.
• Monitor project budget/cost-to-date against total budget.
• Review schedules and manage teams for on-time completion.
• Evaluate change orders and negotiate pricing.
• Establish site construction security procedures in collaboration with security team.
• Maintain relationships with key stakeholders and represent QTS in OAC meetings.
• Support due diligence for potential land banks and new data center opportunities.
