Job summary

Rackspace Technology in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Data Center Operations Technician responsible for all IT infrastructure and customer configurations within the data center, ensuring security, availability, and 99.999% uptime.

You will support Windows Server, RHEL, Ubuntu, and VMware ESX, troubleshoot storage and network issues, manage cabling and hardware, and collaborate with the DCOPS team to maintain policies, safety, and high-quality fanatical support for customers.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining data center infrastructure and customer configurations.
• Proficiency with Windows Server, Linux, and VMware ESXi environments.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hardware, storage, and network issues.
• Ability to follow security policies and safety procedures.
• Strong communication for clear technical updates.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support IT infrastructure to meet uptime targets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware failures on servers and storage.
• Configure and maintain network devices and remote access.
• Perform cabling, rack mounting, and equipment installations.
• Coordinate with DCOPS for onboarding and escalation.
• Ensure documentation and knowledge base are up to date.
