The role involves managing data center operations, mentoring staff, sponsoring projects, and proposing technical solutions across multiple locations, with travel as needed. You will oversee 24/7 operations, guide process improvements, manage outages, and ensure KPIs are met while maintaining safety and security across AWS data centers.

Qualifications

• 4+ years IT experience or Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 2+ years of people management experience
• 2+ years of operations and on-call support for data center facilities or production facilities

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
• Manage the performance of diverse teams across locations
• Develop career paths for employees and update internal tools
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure staffing levels
• Oversee day-to-day data center operations, including queue management and 24/7 shift arrangements
• Lead large-scale outages and act as the call leader
• Improve workflows and technology automation in data center operations
• Document and oversee policies to meet SLAs
• Maintain on-call schedules and coordinate vacations
• Travel to established facilities for training until site is fully operational
