Job summary

Vantage Data Centers LLC is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical engineering strategy for North American data center projects. You will guide design, construction, and operation decisions and collaborate with internal teams to ensure integrated, high-performance solutions.

With 5–8 years in mechanical design for mission-critical environments, you will mentor engineers, shape standards, and contribute to customer engagements while traveling up to 15–25% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5–8 years of mechanical design, construction, and operations experience in data centers or mission-critical environments.
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficient with design tools (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM) and reporting (Excel, Power BI).
• Willingness to travel up to 15–25%.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive mechanical engineering strategy across North American data center projects.
• Lead complex technical problem-solving and provide expert guidance on design, construction, and operations.
• Review and approve critical design decisions, submittals, and change management actions.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to onboarding and development.
• Collaborate with electrical, architectural, operations, and innovation teams for integrated solutions.
