Job summary

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Principal Engineer, Mechanical Engineering to lead mechanical design strategy for North American data center projects. This senior role requires guiding design, construction, and operations across complex hyperscale facilities.

You will mentor engineers, influence standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, efficient cooling solutions while supporting customer engagements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5–8 years of mechanical design, construction, and operations experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Wamiliar with ASHRAE standards and building codes; travel up to 15–25%.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive mechanical engineering strategy across North American data center projects.
• Lead complex technical problem-solving and provide expert guidance on design, construction, and operations.
• Review and approve critical design decisions, submittals, and change management actions.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to onboarding and development of mechanical talent.
• Stay ahead of industry trends to improve system performance and efficiency.
