Job summary

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Principal Engineer, Mechanical Engineering to lead the mechanical design direction for North American data center projects. You will mentor engineers, shape standards, and influence cross-functional teams while representing mechanical engineering in strategic discussions.

The role requires expertise in design tools, CFD, BIM, and a track record of delivering large-scale, mission-critical facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5-8 years of mechanical design, construction, and operations experience, preferably in data centers or mission-critical environments.
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with design and documentation tools (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, CFD) and reporting (Excel, Power BI).
• Knowledge of building codes and ASHRAE standards.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive mechanical engineering strategy across North American data center projects.
• Lead complex technical problem solving and provide expert guidance on design, construction, and operations.
• Influence engineering standards and long-term planning across the organization.
• Review and approve critical design decisions, submittals, and change management actions.
• Support commissioning, turnover, and operational readiness.
