Job summary

Vantage Data Centers seeks a Principal Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, to lead mechanical design strategy for North American data center projects. You will guide complex technical decisions, mentor engineers, and influence cross-functional teams in design, construction and operations.

You will collaborate with electrical, architectural and operations teams, support customer engagements, and promote continuous improvement of mechanical standards. Travel up to 15-25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
• 5-8 years of mechanical design, construction, and operations experience, data center or mission-critical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive mechanical engineering strategy across North American data center projects.
• Lead complex technical problem-solving on design, construction, and operations.
• Review and approve critical design decisions, submittals, and change management actions.
• Support commissioning, turnover, and operational readiness activities.
• Mentor and develop engineers across levels; contribute to onboarding and training.
• Stay ahead of industry trends to improve system performance and efficiency.
