Job summary

Vantage seeks a Principal Engineer, Mechanical Engineering to lead the mechanical discipline across hyperscale data center projects in North America. You will set engineering direction, mentor engineers, and influence cross-functional teams in design, construction, and operations.

The role requires 5–8 years of mechanical design and construction experience, familiarity with ASHRAE standards, and strong leadership. Hybrid work with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote is supported nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (advanced degree preferred).
• 5–8 years in mechanical design, construction, and operations with data center or mission-critical experience.
• Proven track record leading complex technical initiatives and influencing cross-functional teams.
• Deep knowledge of building codes, standards (ASHRAE) and best practices.
• Travel 15–25% (may vary as business evolves).

Responsibilities

• Define and drive mechanical engineering strategy across North American data center projects.
• Lead complex technical problem-solving and guide design, construction, and operations.
• Review and approve critical design decisions, submittals, and change actions.
