Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to independently design and manage complex data center and IT infrastructure projects. You will own capacity planning, set performance standards, and coordinate with vendors to align technology with business needs.

Ideal candidates have a degree or substantial experience in IT infrastructure, with strong collaboration across IT stakeholders and service owners. The role is hybrid-flex with remote options and onsite collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree required or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in a related field; 7+ years if no degree.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan and develop complex engineering designs for network, compute, telephony, platform, middleware and database solutions.
• Own and maintain technology currency and capacity planning to meet SLAs.
• Define hardware and software performance standards.
• Serve as infrastructure SME, advising on emerging technologies with strategic vendors.
• Collaborate on licensing, financial and capacity activities for data center technologies.
• Provide operational readiness through planning, execution, and performance tuning.

Education

Bachelor's degree or advanced degree

5+ years of experience in related field

In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience
