Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking an experienced infrastructure architect to design and deliver complex data center solutions across network, compute, and cloud components. You will own capacity planning, standards, and collaboration with IT partners and vendors to ensure scalable, resilient systems.

The role emphasizes leadership in licensing, budgeting, and performance tuning, with hybrid-flex work and opportunities to shape enterprise infrastructure roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in a related field
• 5+ years of experience in data center infrastructure or related IT fields
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of related field experience

Responsibilities

• Plan, architect, and deliver complex infrastructure designs across network, compute, telephony, platform, middleware, and database.
• Own lifecycle management and capacity planning to meet SLAs.
• Define hardware/software performance standards for scalability and resilience.
• Act as infrastructure SME and guide vendors on emerging technologies.
• Lead licensing, budgeting, and capacity initiatives for datacenter tech.
• Consult IT partners, business stakeholders, and vendors on infrastructure decisions.
• Develop detailed designs for large, complex initiatives with stakeholders.
• Ensure readiness through planning, upgrades, incident resolution.
• Provide expert guidance during complex production incidents to support stability.
• Develop standardized engineering guidelines and roadmaps for delivery.
