Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design and manage complex data center and cloud infrastructure, spanning network, compute, storage, and telephony. You will ensure scalability, performance, and reliability while partnering with IT and business stakeholders.

The role emphasizes architectural leadership, lifecycle management, and collaboration with vendors to align with standards and strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Plan, architect, and deliver complex infrastructure designs spanning network, compute, telephony, platform, middleware, and databases.
• Own technology currency, lifecycle management, and capacity planning to meet SLAs.
• Define hardware and software performance standards for scalability and resilience.
• Provide deep technical guidance and partner with technology vendors.
• Lead licensing, financial planning, and capacity initiatives for datacenter technologies.
• Consult with IT partners, business stakeholders, and vendors on infrastructure decisions.
