Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a seasoned Data Center Architect to lead the engineering of complex physical and cloud-based data center infrastructures, spanning network, compute, storage, middleware, and telephony. Independently analyze requirements, design scalable solutions, and define standards with partners.

The role emphasizes planning, capacity management, governance, and collaboration with vendors, IT and business teams, delivering high availability and performance while mentoring engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree; 5+ years in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of related experience.
• Experience designing data center and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan, architect, and deliver complex infrastructure designs supporting network, compute, telephony, platform, middleware, and database solutions.
• Own technology currency, lifecycle management, and capacity planning to meet SLAs.
• Define and maintain hardware and software performance standards to ensure scalability and resilience.
• Lead and mentor engineers; provide technical guidance and vendor collaboration.
• Collaborate with IT partners, business stakeholders, and vendors on infrastructure decisions.
• Execute detailed designs for large-scale initiatives with stakeholders and delivery partners.
