Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior HVAC Engineer in Tempe, AZ to lead our Building Mechanical team on data center projects. You’ll perform design calculations, size and select equipment, interface with clients and vendors, and prepare construction design packages.

You’ll develop HVAC layout criteria, create P&IDs, final construction documents, and mentor less experienced staff. Join a multi‑disciplinary team and contribute to on‑time, high‑quality project delivery with a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of HVAC design experience.
• Knowledge of codes and standards related to HVAC design.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering as required.
• Ability to lead a building mechanical team on projects and collaborate remotely.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced team with multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Layout and design HVAC systems for data centers and heavy industrial facilities.
• Develop design criteria and sizing for HVAC systems including P&IDs.
• Create final design documents, sequences of operation, and piping layouts.
• Mentor less experienced staff and coordinate with clients and vendors.
• Ensure schedule adherence and technical quality across projects.
