Job summary

Databricks Forward Deployed Engineer position located in the United States seeks engineers to work with customers on productionizing Databricks data & AI solutions. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems across data engineering, AI and application development.

The role is hands-on and customer-facing, requiring strong engineering expertise, adaptability, and excellent customer empathy.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing and Spark runtime internals.
• Experience with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Experience with ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Travel to customers 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Production Solution Delivery: lead production-grade customer projects, design reference architectures, and build data ingestion and ML/AI model integration.
• Transformational Impact: guide strategic customers through end-to-end design, build and deployment of big data and AI applications.
• Empower Customers: advise on architecture and design to achieve successful adoption of Databricks.
• Own the Architecture: drive architecture decisions ensuring secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, project managers and customer teams to deliver engagements.
