Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers on data and AI challenges using the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

This hands-on, customer-facing role requires engineering expertise, adaptability, and strong collaboration with engineering, product, and developer relations teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, analytics, or software engineering.
• Comfortable coding in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps and AI models and APIs.
• Ability to design and deploy performant end-to-end data architectures combining pipelines, models, and UI.
• Experience delivering technical projects with scoping, timelines and measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solution delivery including reference architectures and data ingestion and ML/AI model integration.
• Guide transformational big data projects from end-to-end design to deployment at scale.
• Bootstrap or implement customer projects to ensure successful understanding and adoption of Databricks.
• Own architecture decisions ensuring secure, scalable solutions aligned with customer needs and Databricks practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, project managers, and customer teams to deliver engagements.
• Provide feedback to product and support teams for rapid issue resolution.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Contribute accelerators, frameworks, and best practices to scale impact and influence the product roadmap.
