Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers on data and AI challenges using the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

This hands-on, customer-facing role requires engineering excellence, adaptability, and a passion for driving measurable outcomes with customer empathy. Travel to customer sites is expected up to 20% as part of engagements.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solution delivery and reference architectures.
• Guide strategic customers through end-to-end design, build and deployment of data/AI apps.
• Own architecture decisions to ensure secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with Databricks teams to deliver engagements and provide customer feedback.
