Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is hiring a Cybersecurity Architect to design, implement, and maintain a company‑wide cybersecurity architecture. You will guide security strategy, govern controls, and drive risk reduction across enterprise systems.

The role requires extensive experience with cloud and on‑prem security, regulatory frameworks, and collaboration with senior leadership to protect assets and ensure business continuity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in cybersecurity, IT, CS or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years in cybersecurity with 5+ years in leadership or architecture.
• Strong knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS and regulatory regimes.
• Proven ability to lead security architecture across cloud and on‑prem.
• Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, VPNs, DLP, and encryption solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture strategy.
• Design secure IT environments across cloud and on‑prem systems.
• Architect security controls with defense‑in‑depth principles.
• Perform risk assessments and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain a cybersecurity governance framework.
• Collaborate with executives to define strategy and incident response.
• Oversee SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management integrations.
• Lead vulnerability assessments and penetration testing efforts.
• Provide security leadership, mentoring, and staff training.
• Manage third‑party risk and ensure vendor compliance.
