Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to design and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture for both on‑prem and cloud environments, protecting information systems and data across the organization.

You will lead security strategy, governance, and the integration of tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management), while collaborating with legal and operations to manage risk and ensure continuity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years in cybersecurity with 5+ years in leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Design secure IT environments including network security, cloud, IAM, and data protection with regulatory alignment.
• Implement security controls for on‑premises and cloud infrastructure focusing on scalability and defense‑in‑depth.
• Conduct risk assessments of current and emerging technologies to ensure security standards.
• Develop and maintain a cybersecurity governance framework including policies and standards.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define cybersecurity strategy, risk appetite, and incident response.
• Oversee integration of security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management).
• Ensure compliance with frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS, and regulatory requirements.
