Job summary

Cloudflare in San Francisco is seeking a Customer Engineer to drive technical go-to-market with enterprise customers. You’ll own discovery, design bespoke architectures for security, networking, and developer platforms, and demonstrate value through PoCs and pilots.

You will operate as a quota-carrying technologist within the GTM team, using AI-augmented workflows to reduce admin toil and focus on high-value advisory, renewal, and expansion.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Forward Deployed Engineer.
• Broad technical expertise spanning web security, networking, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise architecture.
• Proven track record of operating in a quota-carrying environment with SaaS metrics and enterprise sales experience.

Responsibilities

• Technical Validation: Partner with Account Executives to lead technical discovery, build bespoke architectures, and deliver demos and PoCs across Cloudflare’s portfolio.
• Customer Adoption & Value Realization: Oversee onboarding, serve as primary engineering contact, monitor health scores, and resolve bottlenecks.
• Commercial Accountability & Expansion: Carry a quota tied to new business and account growth; drive cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
• Trusted Advisory: Maintain deep relationships with key stakeholders from onboarding to renewal and expansion.
• AI Orchestration & Workflow Automation: Use AI agents to automate RFP responses, provisioning, and telemetry monitoring to focus on advisory.
